These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of CandleLight ("the App"). By downloading, accessing, or using the App, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the App.

1. Use of the App

CandleLight is a personal journaling application designed to help you record and reflect on things you are grateful for.

You may use the App for your personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms and applicable laws.

You are responsible for the information and content that you enter into the App and for maintaining access to your device.

2. Your Gratitude Entries

You retain ownership of the gratitude entries and other content that you create in the App.

Your gratitude entries are stored locally on your device. The App does not currently provide an account system or cloud synchronization for these entries.

You are responsible for maintaining appropriate backups of any content that you do not want to lose.

We are not responsible for the loss of locally stored content resulting from deleting the App, losing access to your device, device failure, operating system changes, or other circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App in a way that:

• violates applicable laws or regulations;
• attempts to interfere with or disrupt the App;
• attempts to gain unauthorized access to the App or related systems;
• uses the App for fraudulent or abusive purposes; or
• attempts to reverse engineer, modify, or exploit the App except where such activity is permitted by applicable law.

4. Optional In-App Purchases

The App may offer optional In-App Purchases that allow you to support the developer through small voluntary "coffee" tips.

These purchases are optional and are not required to use the core functionality of the App.

All purchases are processed through Apple's App Store and Apple's In-App Purchase system. Your use of In-App Purchases is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and conditions.

We do not directly process or store your payment card information.

5. Intellectual Property

The App, including its software, design, graphics, interface, branding, and other original materials, is owned by or licensed to the developer and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

Except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law, you may not copy, distribute, modify, sell, lease, or create derivative works based on the App or its proprietary materials.

Your personal gratitude entries remain yours. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your entries to the developer.

6. Availability and Changes

We may modify, update, suspend, or discontinue parts of the App at any time.

We do not guarantee that the App or any particular feature will always be available, uninterrupted, or error-free.

We may release updates that change, add, or remove functionality. Continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the applicable updated functionality and these Terms.

7. Disclaimer

The App is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, to the extent permitted by applicable law.

CandleLight is a journaling and reflection tool. It is not intended to provide medical, psychological, therapeutic, financial, legal, or other professional advice.

Any information, prompts, or features provided by the App are intended for general personal use and should not be treated as a substitute for professional advice.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or other damages arising from or related to your use of the App.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded under applicable law.

9. Termination

You may stop using the App and delete it from your device at any time.

We may suspend or discontinue the App if necessary, including for technical, security, legal, or operational reasons.

10. Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services, including Firebase Analytics provided by Google and Apple's App Store and In-App Purchase services.

Your use of third-party services may also be subject to the terms and policies of those providers.

11. Privacy

Your use of the App is also subject to our Privacy Policy .

The Privacy Policy explains how information is handled by the App and its third-party services.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time.

When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Your continued use of the App after updated Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms, to the extent permitted by applicable law.
